A. About the courses
- Are the classes live or pre-recorded?
The classes are live, with immediate interactive visual and audio communication between the instructor and students. We see and communicate in real time during class through questions, answers, and discussion with our instructor and classmates, resolving any questions we may have.
- How do I view my schedule, and how do I access my classes?
Upon registration, each of our students receives their own personal login credentials, which they use to access the tutoring center’s Digital Portal. From there, they have direct access to all of the tutoring center’s features, including the weekly schedule, course links, assignments, exercises, tests, textbooks, Contact Information, and News about our tutoring center.
- How many students are in the online class?
The number of students in each online class is strictly in the single digits, and we always ensure a high degree of homogeneity within our classes. The average is estimated at 6 students per class.
- What happens if I miss a class?
If a student is unable to log in and attend the live class for a serious reason, they will receive a recording of the class with their classmates’ faces blurred out.
- What books and educational materials will I use?
In addition to textbooks, we include books published by Diakrotima in our tutoring center kits; these are constantly updated under the supervision of our highly experienced faculty members. In fact, the books are also available in digital format exclusively for our students.
- How are assignments and exercises assigned?
At the end of each lesson, instructors assign homework and exercises, which students can find in their personal accounts on our tutoring center’s Digital Portal. Students log in with their personal credentials and can access the assignments and exercises assigned to them. After completing them, they scan their work with their cell phone and upload it within the deadline set by their teachers, so that the teachers can grade it and post the corrected versions along with their scores!
- How are the exams administered?
Exams are administered in accordance with the exam schedule for all Diakrotima Group tutoring centers. Students at our online tutoring center log in 15–30 minutes early with their cameras on and receive instructions and exam questions from the proctor in charge of the exam. They take the exam on camera within the allotted time. Once they finish, they scan and upload their answers to their personal account on the Portal. They are then immediately available to the teachers, who grade them and post the corrected versions back to each student individually, along with their scores! Importantly, students can compare their performance with that of all students in the Group from across Greece and immediately draw conclusions about their progress!
- How and where do the professors teach their classes?
Our instructors use the specialized facilities of the Online Tutoring Center, which are equipped with the most advanced distance learning tools, to fully replicate the online course experience with that of an in-person class. Our online tutoring center leads the way in the immediate application of modern technological tools, enhancing the quality of the course and providing visual aids that instantly capture students’ attention! Teachers open the digital classroom at the time scheduled in the weekly timetable and connect live with their students.
B. Technical Issues
- What equipment do I need to participate in the online courses?
- To participate in the course, you will need an Internet connection and a laptop or desktop computer with a camera.
- You’ll need a cell phone with a camera to scan your assignments and exams.
- Headphones are recommended (optional) for even better concentration during class.
- What happens in the event of an outage Internet or power outage?
In this case, the student will receive a video recording of the class they missed, but will not be able to see their classmates’ faces. Of course, the teachers will assist them in the next class by prioritizing answers to any questions they may not have had time to ask. As for assignments and exercises, they will be available as assigned in their personal account on our tutoring center’s Digital Portal.
If a class is canceled for a reason attributable to the tutoring center, it will be made up for the entire class.
C. Financial
- When are tuition fees due?
Tuition is paid monthly and must be paid in advance on the1st of each month. If, for specific reasons, payment is not possible in a given month, please contact the Administration to arrange for an alternative payment date, which, however, must not exceed the7th day of that month.
- How are tuition fees paid?
Tuition is paid into the tutoring center’s bank account.
- How do I get a receipt?
After each tuition payment, receipts are issued automatically, electronically and are immediately available on our ARTEMIS digital platform whenever you need them, throughout the year.
- Can I take advantage of discounts, and how?
To be fair and equitable to all families, we have ensured the lowest possible tuition costs while fully maintaining the necessary quality in the educational services our children deserve. Nevertheless, we have implemented automatic discounts that apply when two or more siblings are enrolled at the same time, when a new student is successfully referred to us, or when a current student re-enrolls.
D. Updates for Parents and Students
- How are parents kept informed about their child’s progress?
Keeping parents informed plays a key role in our educational support system for students; this is an ongoing process, specifically:
- Daily, for each subject, with teachers’ daily comments on the student’s oral and written performance, which parents can view at any time.
- Our teachers are available to parents on a weekly basis by appointment to discuss urgent matters.
- Each month, the department chair informs the parents either by phone or via an online meeting.
- Regular parent-teacher conferences are scheduled quarterly, three times a year, during which parents receive their children’s progress reports. At these meetings, they speak with each teacher individually via live video conference according to a meeting schedule that has been sent to them in advance.
- What is the role of the department chair?
The department chair is responsible for supervising and providing educational support to all students in the department. He or she is kept constantly informed by all other teachers regarding students’ progress and ensures that the tutoring center intervenes promptly and directly, as well as keeping parents informed.
E. Career Guidance
- Can I do a career guidance test, and if so, how much does it cost?
Our tutoring centers offer the Career Gate Test—one of the most reliable and certified career guidance tests—free of charge.
- How does Test?
The test is automated and administered online. Students receive instructions and login credentials. It is completed in an easy and user-friendly manner via a questionnaire that takes no more than half an hour.
- How do I receive the results?
The results will be presented and provided by our online tutoring center’s specially certified career counselor during a scheduled video conference. The student and parent will have the opportunity to discuss and receive guidance on critical educational and career choices.
