There are moments that remind us that education isn’t limited just to books and classrooms. Our recent meeting with the beloved children’s book author Christos Daskalakis was one of those moments.

On Saturday, May 23, 2026, DIAKROTIMA & After School Elefsina, in collaboration with the Boobooki bookstore and Agkyra Publications, had the pleasure of hosting beloved author at a special event brimming with imagination, emotion, creativity, and human connection.

With the author’s call to action as their motto—“Come, let’s live out our ‘I Wants’ together…”— students from the tutoring center, friends, parents, beloved colleagues, and teachers shared a wonderful experience filled with stories, reflections, children’s smiles, and meaningful dialogue, discovering once again how the power of books brings people together and inspires new ideas.

The event concluded with a discussion, an exchange of views, and a book signing by the author, leaving both young and old with wonderful memories and valuable messages.
