The DIAKROTIMA Method

Our Educational Philosophy

Course Organization

  1. Classes at DIAKROTIMA Tutoring Centers are held in small classes, that is, in small, dynamic groups of 4–8 students per group (an average of 5–6 students per class hour).
  2. The classes are homogeneous, and students are placed in them (that is, in the class appropriate for them) based on their grades from the previous school year. This classification of students into classes is dynamic and is adjusted throughout their time at the school based on feedback from our teachers.
  3. Short in-class quizzes (for frequent assessment of student progress), the three-hour exams held every second Saturday of the month (simulating the conditions of the national college entrance exams) and the special preparation sessions during the Christmas and Easter breaks are very important components of the educational process, and student participation is mandatory.

With this ideal approach to organizing classes, we achieve the following:

The Student…
Takes more class hours per week, while attending the tutoring center less often. This gives them more free time to rest, study their schoolwork, and engage in sports, hobbies, etc.

The Professor..
He teaches a very interesting and relaxing class and has 4 times more time for each of his students individually (compared to other tutoring centers), while at the same time..

Education and Pedagogy…
The system works perfectly for everyone(students and teachers), with small, homogeneous groups, a relaxed atmosphere, and more class time for the children, featuring an experiential and participatory learning process that boosts student motivation and overall performance!

  1. Special preparation books published by DIAKROTIMA and additional support materials (with e-learning and e-student codes) are distributed to students and their parents within the first ten days of enrollment.
  2. Electronic records track a student’s performance every two hours of class, for each day the student attends the tutoring center (with detailed scores on oral, written, quizzes, and exams, along with teachers’ comments on the student’s progress and absences), which are always available to the students’ parents and guardians.
  3. Career Guidance Seminars to help students make the right choice of academic program and career, specialized career “tests” designed to identify teenagers’ aptitudes and interests, and one-on-one meetings with specialized career counselors regarding studies in Greece and abroad help students choose the academic paths and programs that best suit their character and personality.
  4. Finally, special programs are offered for psychometric tests (matrix tests) and athletic training for students who wish to enroll in military academies and law enforcement academies.

Parent Information at 7 Levels of Detail

ARTEMIS MOBILE APP

Students, parents, and teachers can navigate all the features of the ARTEMIS information system more easily from their mobile devices.

Parents can view the following on a daily and monthly basis:

  • Their children’s educational journey
  • Absences
  • Material Covered in Class
  • Homework
  • Course Grades
  • Test and Exam Scores
  • Comments on the student’s daily and monthly performance
  • Course Catalog
  • Educational materials

Attendance is recorded digitally. Students and teachers can join the class with a single click.

Assignments, tests, materials, and questions are submitted simply by posting them. Students and teachers have a digital archive of assignments, tests, materials, and questions.

Teachers and students exchange files, and assignments are graded online. Exams are posted along with the corrections as well! Each student sees their own copy. Instead of handouts, the teacher posts supplementary material, and students have access to it, all neatly organized in a digital archive.

Students have the opportunity to ask the teacher questions and receive answers.

Notification for Questions: As soon as a student clicks on the “Courses – Questions” menu and types their question about a specific course, an email is automatically sent to the instructor, asking them to log in to Artemis to view that student’s question.
